Extreme design and even more efficient aerodynamics
Lamborghini Squadra Corse is presenting the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the latest version of the racing car that will be used in each of the three Lamborghini continental series starting from 2022. Radical aerodynamic perfections and its design without compromise made by Lamborghini Centro Stile make the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 the best performing version ever designed to race in the single-brand competitions.
The Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 makes the design of the previous generations more extreme, heralding stylistic elements that will make their debut on the roads in the forthcoming years. The front changes radically, featuring new combination lights and the pronounced “omega” lip that reinforces the styling bond with the Huracán STO. The “air curtain” intakes that optimize air flow are also unprecedented.
A stunning body
The body components are also new, like the side member covers and the previously mentioned aerodynamic rear side skirts, converted from plastic materials to carbon fiber. Moreover, the rear fenders are now made up of a single element, which comprises part of the side spoiler.
Strengthened braking system for even safer driving
The steel front discs have been increased from 380 to 390 mm. The new calipers can house pads with a new design and a larger surface to optimize performance and fuel consumption. The propulsion is entrusted to the 5.2-liter V10 intake engine that delivers up to 620 CV, to be managed with a sequential six-gear X-Trac gearbox and matched with rear wheel drive.
Comment by Mitja Borkert, Head of Design of Lamborghini
The Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 will make its public debut on May 28 in Le Castellet, on the occasion of the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa. Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini Head of Design, commented on the event: “When we approached the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 project, we immediately thought of the 'Racing in style' concept. That is to say, a combination of the aggressiveness typical of the Huracán racing cars and of the classic characteristics of Lamborghini DNA. Moreover, Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 represents a futuristic aesthetic approach that in part anticipates the design elements of the next range of road vehicles.”
