How fast can the Huracan RWD go?

Specs for the rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracan

Some people prefer driving a rear-wheel drive supercar to an all-wheel-drive model, and we can’t blame them. Though better performance will always be available from an all-wheel-drive model, you cannot dispel the thrill of all that power going right to the rear wheels. The Lamborghini Huracan still has rear-wheel-drive Coupe and Spyder models available. Want to know the specs for the rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracan? We have answers.

What engine does the Huracan RWD have?

All Lamborghini supercars currently available from the Aventador SVJ down to the Huracan RWD are naturally aspirated. Though the outward engine specs are mostly the same between all Huracan models with a 5.2-liter V10 that’s transversely mounted where it should be in a supercar, behind the driver, there are some performance numbers that vary.

The Huracan RWD engine is tuned specifically to suit the rear-wheel-drive format. As such, it generates 580 horsepower while pumping out 398 pound-feet of torque. The Huracan EVO and the Huracan Performante which are both all-wheel-drive models, share the same specs now. Those versions of the 5.2-liter V10 generate 640 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.

In other words, the Huracan RWD represents a reduction in power of 60 horsepower and a reduction in torque of 45 pound-feet. This is a significant difference, but not too significant when considering the extreme performance numbers of a Lamborghini supercar.

How fast is the Lamborghini Huracan RWD?

We know why you truly came here. You want to know how fast it can go. Here you should be pleasantly surprised. The Huracan RWD Coupe has a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 3.4 seconds and a 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) time of 10.1 seconds. The Huracan RWD Spyder has the same engine but is slightly heavier giving it a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 3.6 seconds and a 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) time of 10.4 seconds.

Both Huracan RWD models share a top speed of 198 mph and they also share a 62-0 mph (100-0 km/h) braking distance of 106 feet. For contrast, both Huracan EVO models list a top speed “in excess of 202 mph,” and the Huracan EVO Coupe can go from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds.
