What are the differences between the Huracan EVO and Performante?

Performance specs for the Lamborghini Huracan EVO

The new Huracan EVO is getting people excited, and everyone wants to know what kind of specs it will have, how fast it will be, and if it can outpace the Performante. We may not be able to answer all these questions, but we can come close as we go over all the performance specs for the Lamborghini Huracan EVO.

Engine specs of the Huracan Evo

The Huracan EVO has the exact same V10 engine as the Huracan Performante. That means its 5.2-liter V10 can pump out 640 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

How much does the Huracan EVO weigh?

The Huracan EVO with its new tech and its four-wheel-steering system does weigh more than the Performante despite the fact that they share an engine. The Huracan Performante has a dry weight of 3,047 pounds or 1,382 kilograms, and the Huracan EVO comes in at 98 pounds heavier at 3,135 pounds or 1,422 kilograms.

Is the EVO faster than the Performante?

The question certainly makes sense. The Huracan EVO uses the same engine as we have shown and it’s a newer version of the Huracan, so it’s understandable to think that it might be faster. The Performante is still the king of the Huracan lineup, but the Huracan EVO comes very close.

In a 0-62 mph run (0-100 km/h) both Huracan models get there in the same time at 2.9 seconds. However, in a 0-124 mph run (0-200 km/h) you’ll see a slight difference with 9.0 seconds for the new Huracan EVO and 8.9 seconds for the Huracan Performante. Both models do list the same top speed at over 201 mph or over 325 km/h.

Will the Huracan EVO beat the Performante on a track?

Can the Huracan Performante still outperform the Huracan EVO on a track like the Nürburgring? That remains to be seen. The Performante once held the production car record there, but now it’s held by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

The Performante certainly has a lower weight and more downforce, but the EVO sports variable aerodynamics that could give it an edge. Our money would still be on the Performante beating it out though. It was built for the track after all.
