Of course, you want to know more about the Lamborghini Urus beyond its release date and release details. You want to know what’s under the hood, you want to know the Lamborghini Urus performance specs, and you want to know how fast this SSUV actually is.
Since the Urus was officially announced years ago, there has been a lot of speculation, mostly surrounding what will sit under the hood. Many speculated that it would simply get the V10 engine from the Huracan, but that isn’t really Lamborghini’s style
When Lamborghini builds a vehicle, they really build it. They don’t hammer out a body, go to the parts bin, and just stuff in whatever works. Take the Aventador and the Huracan for example. Though their engines do have some similarities, they are almost entirely different. The Huracan is a V10 and the Aventador is a V12, and that’s just for starters.

Therefore, it would only stand to reason, that if Lamborghini was going to do the Urus right, it would get its own engine, and that’s exactly what has happened. When the Urus comes out early 2018, it will have a unique engine under the hood that you can’t currently find in any other Lamborghini model.
As if to prove that the Urus is utilizing its own engine, the Super Sport Utility vehicle packs in a V8 engine. This marks the first time since 1988 that Lamborghini has used a V8 engine in a production vehicle, but this new one is very different from its 266 horsepower ancestor.

This all-aluminum V8 engine straps twin turbochargers to its 4.0 liters of displacement to output some serious power. How much power exactly? How about 650 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque? This is especially impressive considering the Urus weighs in at only 4,850 pounds, making it exceptionally light for its size.
Will Lamborghini ever make an electric car?
Power doesn’t always translate into speed, but with the Urus it certainly does. The Urus can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in just 3.6 seconds and from 0-124 mph (0-200 kph) in just 12.8 seconds. Overall, the Urus has a top speed of 189 mph, making this a ridiculously fast machine.
