Not only was this significant for surpassing the Countach, but it also marked the first time a production car had ever had a top speed over 200 mph. When it comes to acceleration, the standard Diablo was capable of going from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds. This was another impressive milestone for the time.

The Lamborghini Diablo saw many different variants over its 11-year lifecycle. However, that first model, which was able to get over the 200 mph mark, was impressive on its own. The last two on the list received an even larger engine with a 6.0-liter V12 that was capable of producing 575 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in the GT and 550 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque in the VT 6.0. It’s also worth noting that the standard Diablo, all SV models, and the GT were all rear-wheel drive. The VT models were all four-wheel drive.
With all that said, independent sources state that the Diablo GT could achieve a top speed in excess of 215 mph. Those sources also provide a 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds putting the Diablo GT right at home with modern supercars.
