The Lamborghini Huracan Performante is an impressive machine to be sure, but what does it add to the already powerful and impressive Huracan? It turns out, a whole lot. Lamborghini has reworked everything from the engine to the body. Learn more as we explore the difference between the Huracan and the Huracan Performante.
Technically, nearly all the changes to the Huracan Performante are for performance reasons, but let’s instead look at just the pure numbers first. The Huracan Performante is still powered by an impressive V10 engine, but now it has even more power with 631 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. For comparison, the standard AWD Huracan produces 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to weight, those same two cars have a large difference between them as well. The AWD Huracan Coupe weighs in at a light 3,135 pounds. However, the Huracan Performante Coupe shaves off 88 pounds to give it a total weight of 3,047 pounds.
These significant changes allow the Huracan Performante Coupe to go from 0-62 mph (0-100km/h) in just 2.9 seconds, and from 0-124 mph (0-200km/h) in just 8.9 seconds. For comparison, the AWD Huracan Coupe goes from 0-62 mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.2 seconds, and from 0-124 mph (0-200km/h) in just 9.9 seconds. Both models have a top speed reportedly in excess of 201 mph.
Is there a Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder?
At first, you may think those engine and weight specs should translate into larger gains on the acceleration and speed metrics, but a large exterior change to the Huracan Performante is what hinders that.
The huge rear wing is adjustable and all carbon fiber. That, along with several other changes to the body, has allowed the Huracan Performante to gain more downforce. Of course, all this goes to make the Huracan Performante even more trackable.
Other changes include new front and rear bumpers and new side skirts. The exhaust was even rerouted up through the rear bumper. Lamborghini also reworked the suspension and the steering entirely for the track.
The interior of the Huracan Performante has received many changes and modifications as well.
